The Music
Diane Hirlian provides live musical entertainment solutions to create the right mood for your style of wedding. Whether you are planning a traditional wedding or one that is a little different, the ‘Diane Hirlian Band’ is the perfect choice of live entertainment; including a song list ideal for a cocktail-party style wedding, a formal dinner or a reception including cocktails, dinner and dancing. It is all about ensuring your wedding is the best party you and your friends have ever attended!

Band Options and Prices
We perform as a two-piece through to a five-piece band and tailor our musical line-up, repertoire and prices to suit your requirements. Band options can be selected by combining vocals, saxophone, keyboard, guitar, bass, and drums. A larger sized ensemble is also available upon request.

For weddings based in Sydney, our prices generally range from $950 to $2400 and will vary depending upon the number of musicians you would like in the band, the location of your wedding and the number of hours you would like the band to perform. These prices include full sound production for up to 200 guests and total entertainment management leading up your wedding and on the day of your wedding. A 30% deposit is required in order to confirm the booking, with the balance of payment due two weeks prior to your wedding date. Our Performance
We will fit our entertainment schedule around your chosen order of proceedings and tailor our presentation to suit the style of your wedding. Our aim is to ensure we perform as much as possible during your wedding reception. Our performances are based upon 45-minute band sets and we strive to perform as many sets as possible throughout the entire reception. There are no strict rules - simply a desire to make you happy and tailor our performance to ensure a lovely flow of live music. We also play beautiful CD music during band breaks in order to ensure a constant flow of music during your entire wedding reception.

Designing Your Wedding Entertainment
Here are some ideas on how you can choose to have the entertainment tailored for your wedding:

Choose from a two-piece to a five-piece band to create a sophisticated party mood for a cocktail-style wedding
For a traditional wedding reception you can design the entertainment as follows:

a smaller-sized instrumental line-up for the ceremony (if it is held in the same location as your reception), and
a smaller-sized instrumental line-up for pre-dinner drinks, and
a three to five-piece band with or without vocals for dinner, or a four to five-piece band with vocals for dinner an dancing

If your chosen wedding venue includes a DJ in their wedding package, here are some ideas on how to coordinate a DJ with live entertainment:

Engage the band for the entire reception and alternate 45-minute sets between the band and the DJ,
Have the DJ play for shorter periods during band breaks, or
Engage the band during pre-dinner drinks and dinner only and have the DJ take over for the dancing later in the reception

Our musical style and repertoire caters beautifully for a cocktail party-style wedding or a traditional-style reception requiring pre-dinner drinks, dinner and dance music. This means that you can book the ‘Diane Hirlian Band’ to cover the entertainment for your entire wedding reception.

Our repertoire is designed to be enjoyed by all age groups including well-known songs from the genres of Jazz, Latin, Soul, Pop and Disco. We are happy to learn a new song for your Bridal Waltz if it is not on our current song list. We also assist you with song choices for the Bridal Party Entrance, Cake Cutting and Farewelling Your Guests.

Diane Hirlian, vocalist and Band Leader, has extensive experience performing at weddings and corporate events as well as a professional background in corporate event management. Diane will:

work closely with you leading up to your wedding, assisting you with song choices and performance times for the band,
work closely with your chosen venue to take care of all the technical aspects of the band’s performance ensuring that the sound acoustics are perfect for the size of the room and the number of guests,
work closely with your MC and the venue to make sure everything runs smoothly on the day giving you peace of mind so you can relax and enjoy your wedding day.
